New Smyrna Beach boasts the popular Biketoberfest, Bike Week, and is close to the Daytona 500. The Chamber of Commerce keeps an active events calendar with everything from Habitat for Humanity volunteer opportunities to free concerts. We’ve also highlighted a few of our favorite places to visit.
Daytona International Speedway is a race track in Daytona Beach, Florida. Since opening in 1959, it has been the home of the Daytona 500, the most prestigious race in NASCAR as well as its season opening event.
The Speedway is only 25 minutes from New Smyrna Beach RV Park. It hosts races year-round so be sure to check their schedule when planning your visit.

Kennedy Space Center
The Kennedy Space Center, located in Merritt Island, Florida, is one of ten National Aeronautics and Space Administration field centers. Since December 1968, KSC has been NASA's primary launch center of human spaceflight. It’s a little less than an hour from New Smyrna Beach RV Park.
This is a must-visit museum. It’s rich in history, science, and human interest stories. There are also frequent rocket launches by Starlink so be sure to check the schedule before planning your full space coast visit.
Museum of Arts and Sciences
The primary Art, Science & History Museum in Central Florida. It offers daily planetarium shows, weekly laser light shows and is great for the entire family. They are open seven days a week.
This 25 miles of pristine Atlantic Ocean beach, dunes and Mosquito Lagoon is the longest expanse of undeveloped land along the East Coast of Florida and as a federally protected area will remain primarily as it is today. The National Seashore is open to visitors every day. Be sure to check their website for information about their Ranger programs and wildlife spotting recommendations.

Central Florida Zoo
The Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens is a 116-acre zoo and botanical garden located north of Orlando, Florida in Sanford. It has hundreds of zoo animals, an exciting aerial adventure course, tropical splash pad, beautiful botanical gardens, and more!
“I'm a traveling nurse and enjoy the proximity of the park to shopping, grocery store (Publix), restaurants, and of course Starbucks and the beach. Walmart is about 10 minutes away, and to go down on the beach is only about 10 minutes too... less usually. Post office is about 5 minutes away too, although they pick up at the RV park mail room as well.
You can see space shuttle launches here, go in to town for canal Street markets, and participate in one of literally hundreds of activities a week. Orlando is about an hour, Daytona speedway 20-25 minutes.”
